Mortimer's Fear (It's always good to be holy, and better yet to be led by the Spirit of God, rather than by fear.) |
|
About a month ago, I saw a pagan reading a book. So I went home and destroyed all of the books we had in every room. Some, of course, were Bibles, but I was afraid that I might be erring on the wrong side of things to keep them. After all, God is Spirit, and He can always speak to me as He chooses, in any way that pleases Him. Afterwards, I felt very relieved and cleansed, having made my house more holy. Last week, I saw a pagan eating a bowl of vegetables, and having fruit for dessert. So I went home and threw out all the vegetables and fruit in the house. I declared to my wife and children that none of us would ever eat fruit and vegetables again -- not under my roof. Afterwards, I felt so clean and pure, knowing that my family was safe from evil influences and pagan practices. Yesterday, I saw a terrible thing. I saw a pagan walking down the sidewalk with his lovely wife and children. They were all of them talking and laughing together. I could hardly believe my eyes. Last night I went home, getting there very late. I had been struggling for hours, but I knew what I had to do.
Today, my house is pure and clean
and holy — free of all pagan influences. I'm very lonely and
afraid. But I know that my soul is safe. No
paganism shall ever touch my life.

Scripture says: There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)
